Over the past 35 years, BS”D the kehillos of the former Soviet Union have developed full Jewish communal structures, including schools, yeshivos, and chesed programs involving tens of thousands of Jews who have remained in Russia, and the other former Communist republics.

These vibrant kehillos have created Torah institutions across Russia.

As members of the communities have become more affiliated, they have themselves become our partners in supporting and funding our yeshivos, day schools, childrens’ homes, chadorim, kollelim, outreach activities, and social welfare programs.

As a result of the crisis in the region, and severe economic sanctions against Russia, the Mosdos and Kehilos in Moscow and Russia are facing an enormous challenge affecting their very survival.

As a result of the crisis in the region, and severe economic sanctions against Russia, the Mosdos and Kehilos in Moscow and Russia are facing an enormous challenge affecting their very survival.

The home grown support of individuals who were themselves donors and supporters of Jewish life around the world has diminished. Formerly wealthy Jews in Moscow now face an uncertain future, and the thousands of Torah observant Jews throughout Russia are in distress.

We need to help our brothers and sisters in the Former Soviet Union survive until BS”D the crisis subsides and life returns to normal.
